If you’re a teen who loves music and want to learn about music careers (from an audio engineer, concert promoter, electronic music producer, manager, musician, music journalist, singer, and songwriter), be sure to apply for GRAMMY Camp 2012. GRAMMY Camp will be held for the 8th year in Los Angeles, for the 2nd consecutive year in New York, and for the first time ever in Nashville, TN in Summer 2012.

About GRAMMY Camp
You get to spend more than a week living, breathing, eating, drinking music – with students from all over the country and music industry pros who know how it all works. You’ll meet guest artists, write and record new music, visit cool music sites, and finish strong with a final concert in a professional venue…

Plus – financial assistance is available for students who need it.

Disney’s Dreamers Academy Gets Ready for Dreams Come True & Inspiration from Chef Jeff

From March 8–11, the 2012 Disney’s Dreamers Academy will be packed with wonderful experiences crafted to motivate, inspire and prepare each young Dreamer to reach even further to make their dreams come true. Beginning with the celebratory welcome from Steve Harvey, Essence Magazine, Disney Executives and Disney Cast Members—and moving through a weekend filled with motivational speakers and immersive career workshops ranging from acting to zoology—the Dreamers are in for an experience that is geared to open their minds to the many possibilities their dreams can lead them to.

The students at Canal Point Elementary have been doing awesome things in their budding journalist program, interviewing esteemed people like Oprah Winfrey and even President Barack Obama! KEC TV is an award winning television news program that is broadcasted to the 500 students at KEC/Canal Point Elementary. Youth Program Spotlight: Disney Dreamer Academy 2011 Highlights and 2012 Program Applications

To find out more about the Disney’s Dreamers Academy and to apply visit www.disneysdreamersacademy.com; (applications for next year’s program are now available through October 31, 2011!).

This year 110 high school students had an amazing experience at the Walt Disney World Resort where they were inspired to make their dreams reality. The students took part in Disney’s Dreamers Academy helmed by Steve Harvey and Essence Magazine. The weekend included motivational speakers, fun activities and enriching interactive work sessions designed to inspire them to follow their aspirations. The interactive workshops gave the Dreamers a look into fields ranging from Marine Biology to Journalism, to the Performing Arts and Culinary Arts.

Some of the speakers who encouraged and motivated them included: Ruben Studdard, Yolanda Adams, Mikki Taylor, Stephen A. Smith, Tamera Mowry, and keynote speaker Raven-Symone. For the first time in the four year history of Disney’s Dreamers Academy, five students were awarded internships, four with this year’s Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
